Nestled below the beautiful Chapmans Peak Drive in Noordhoek, 4 Protea Road focussed on embedding itself into its unique natural surroundings. The brief included a gathering space for family. Being proud grandparnets the clients wanted a space for Sunday family lunches, a space where grandchildren could roam free and a space where they could find peace and quiet making the most of the surrounding natural beauty. Working closely with VIOB developments we sought to design a seemless transition between internal and external spaces. The project has been broken down into two phases, of which only phase 1 has been installed.
Phase 1
Phase 1 focussed on the front of the house and the main central living space. The street frontage boasts a natural fynbos garden and roof garden, working closely with Roomtogrow we developed planting palettes that celebrate the natural surroundings. The central living space creates usable outdoor rooms that are enclosed with a balance of formal and natural planting. Installation works are still ongoing to watch this space for updated photos..
